To forgive is to set a prisoner free, and to discover that the prisoner was you.
--Lewis B. Smedes
This phrase has stayed with me all morning. How often have I seemingly 'forgiven' someone for an injustice and then relived the situation the next day, week or year ? Whether it's a close friend, or a business colleague, I need to examine my actions and thoughts, and then release them. Keeping the resentment alive only makes it fester. And I aim to be free.
