Crazy for Noodles
When I arrived in Los Angeles, the first thing I did was explore Ramen places. I'm a a noodle freak: pasta, chicken noodle, Campbell's alphabet soup, you name it. But my absolute favorite is ramen. Back east, ramen noodles are limited to the packaged kind. In college, there was only the styrofoam option, with the freeze dried carrots and corn, which I would immediately throw away. I wasn't really into filling it up with water to the three quarter indented line to make it soupy, I just wanted to eat the noodles with all that chemical seasoning in the silver packets.
Out here in LA, you can find fresh ramen every few blocks. During lockdown, I did takeout from a bunch of different places around town. Some were better than others and my noodle craze was generally satisfied. Last week I was in a hurry to eat lunch and I stumbled on Shin-Sen-Gumi. It was ready in less than 10 minutes and it was so delicious that I also ordered one to go. Found out they offer half price on ramen every 11th day of the month. Guess who is buying ramen TODAY ???
A life without purpose is like ramen without noodles...10% noodles, 90% love...Just noodling around...Couples that eat ramen together stay together....Fantastic days usually begin with ramen...Unconditional love is difficult to find...Good ramen is even more difficult...and my personal favorite, Without noodles, there is no peace.
